Fokker F-100 Rear Brake Operation

Recommended Posts

Hi, just curious to know why pilots do not use the Fokker F-100 rear brake on landing as much as the Fokker F-28, and F-70s. I searched airliners.net and found 1 or 2 photos of American F-100 using with airbrakes. Not too many for USAirways either. Just courious to know why. Thanks,Bill

It is a bit more unusal as compared to the BAe 136/Avro RJ but often used when winds are strong or gusty. That will make the engines run at a higher RPM during final and thus have a faster reaction in case needed.
