default airbus-320 does not climb

Featured Replies

I am having problems with the default airbus-320 not climbing after a while, or even descending as well.  I have no problems with the other jets, 747, 787. etc.

Here we go, I make a flight plan atc tells me to climb to 10,000, the plane climbs I have no problem here.  Next for example atc, will tell me to climb to 22,000..  Npw the airbus stays just at 10,000 and refuses to climb.

So, what, am I doing wrong here ?

If your on PC, in all honesty download the Flybywire (FBW A320NX) it's light years ahead on development compared t the default aircraft, and will give you a more realistic experiance.

If your fairly new to flight sims or the A320, FBW even do a training tutorial to help in learning the aircraft.Link Below, oh and grab the installer from the site, the aircraft is updated daily.

Changing the altitude once you are at or near a previously selected altitude is a two step process. First step is to dial in the new altitude (which you have done). Second step is to tell the flight manager you now wish to go to that altitude. To do that (assuming you are using the legacy mouse control) move the mouse to the top of the altitude knob until you see the little up arrow, then click. I believe this simulates "pushing" the knob. If you wish to do an open climb (or descent) instead of a managed climb (or descent), move the mouse to the bottom of the knob until you see the little down arrow, then click. Again, I believe this simulates "pulling" the knob. (I could have the push and pull thing backwards). This is also how you manipulate the speed, heading and v/s knobs.

I also echo @Car147 suggestion regarding the FBW A320, in particular the Dev version.
