Motherboard bloatware!

Featured Replies

Why do motherboard manufacturers insist on generating a multitude of  programs that we don't need and often installs them without our knowledge?

Just found Patriot Viper software on my hard drive, that apparently Asus installs without our knowledge. Why? God knows! If you have a recent Asus system have a look, will probably be there.

Armory Crate seems quite useful, so why provide AI Suite 3 in addition, that isn't really needed any more. And GameFirst, that messes about with your power plans.

Even found Disney Plus, god knows who put that there. 🙄

That one's on Microsoft. Just upgraded to Win11 and there it was in the awful new style start menu, along with Tik Tok, Prime Video and a few other apps MS must have 'partnered with' against my wishes.🙄

Way too early to say. I haven't done anything with it other than remove apps. Too bad MS decided to stop users going back to the Win10 Start Menu - it took me a while to get used to tiles in the first place (then found them great for organising groups of programs), but going back to what is basically a stunted version of a Win7 menu is a retrograde step. And whoever thought the menu should be in the middle of the screen needs their head examined - Imagine watching something on Youtube for instance and wanting to check something via the Start Menu - it will cover up the video you're watching!🙄

I wanted to hold off upgrading too, but I need to see if it will fix my current MSFS issues. If not, I might as well go back to Win10 and continue battling a bit longer. Better the devil you know...
