Proper MESH settings in FSX?

Featured Replies

What are the proper MESH settings in FSX? I use FS Genesis North American Terrain Mesh and XClass Landclass. My system works very well with FSX (see in my signature below), but I was confused as to what to set "Mesh Complexity" and "Mesh Resolution" to in the sim. I know that once you get beyond a certain level, that the resolution can't get any better. Is there a common setting for these two parameters that you find works best with the two addon products mentioned here?

I'll be watching this one. I just bought the fs genesis mesh, but I haven't installed it yet, so this may be helpful.

The Fsgenesis mesh is LOD12 (9.6m) for the U.S. So i set my mesh resolution to 10m to get the full effect. Mesh complexity 100.

Thanks...I'll try that. Out of curiosity, where do you set your "Level of Detail" and "Texture Resolution" when your Mesh is at 100? Stan

I read at the FS Genesis forums that you should set the FS9 and FSX terrain to 98%, not 100. Not sure why, but that's what I read.

HI Eric,It was formerly more of a performance issue a few years back, but with today's processors, really not much of an issue anymore. You can safely use 100 if you have a recent system and aren't fixated on triple-digit frame rates.-------Justinhttp://www.fsgenesis.netHigh Quality Scenery for FS200x
