February 6, 20224 yr Hi All, Hoping somebody with some knowledge of OpenTrack or a better working knowledge of the MSFS Camera system can help me here. I've got three joysticks plugged into my system. The Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo Yoke and Throttle quadrant as well as an X-Box controller. The only buttons I have assigned within the sim itself are linked to the X-Box controller and control the views (I.e. A button for internal camera, C button for External and B for drone). I recently also picked up the Grass Monkey track Ir thingy and as recommended am using Open Track. Everything works well, however I have noticed one anomaly. Within Open Track i linked the START TRACKING shortcut to A (so that tracking starts when I'm in the cockpit). I lined STOP TRACKING to C and B (so that when I toggle to outside or drone view the tracking stops). Now, this works fine if the OPEN TRACK software is in the foreground (I.e. the highlighted application) but if I'm in the sim (i.e. click the sim to bring it to the foreground) the X-Box controller buttons are not detected when pressed. So essentially, can only use the X-Box controller buttons if Open Track is the highlighted app. Whats odd, is that if I assign a button on the yoke or throttle quadrant to START TRACKING or STOP TRACKING the Open Track software detects it regardless of if it's in the foreground or background. So essentially, its not recognizing button presses for the X-Box controller unless its the highlighted application. Anybody ever seen this behaviour before or have any idea what it might be? Ultimately my objective is just to disable tracking when I go external to the cockpit - but I don't see an option within MSFS that will do that. Yes, I can assign TOGGLE TRACKING to a button, but that will require two button presses when going external. Anybody got any advice? February 6, 20224 yr For my Logitech X52 there’s a little app that let’s me program any button to execute a series of e.g. button presses and keyboard keystrokes... not sure if something like that is available for the Xbox controller or generic. Sorry, I know this is not a specific solution, but maybe it can inspire one 🙂
