CTD's in 2D With VR Headset Plugged In

Featured Replies

I've been chasing a CTD that started around the time I got my new Reverb G2 headset.  I only get CTD's in 2D, never in VR.  So after 3 consecutive CTD's on my test flight of KSRQ - KCLW (plus one CTD when I left my computer unattended while I was in the menu), I tried unplugging my VR headset (both cables) and I was able to complete my test flight and do another short flight to Plant City.

So I'll call the first test after unplugging the headset a success and will do some more tests.

Has anyone else encountered such an issue?  I'm wondering if the headset is timing out or something...not sure why it could be causing a CTD when I don't even have Openxr or Windows Mix Realty portal open.  If this indeed the cause then the fix is obvious though I'd rather be able to just leave the headset plugged in instead of trying to fiddle with plugs on the back of my computer.

Thanks!

Dave

Not familiar with the headset but does it plug into a USB port as well it might be worth checking your power settings and change USB selective suspend settings to disabled maybe this is timing out and causing a crash?

Thanks yeah I had thought it might be power settings but my USB ports are all set to high performance.

As it turns out I don’t think it’s headset related, I disabled my CPU overclock today and it seems to have fixed the CTDs for now (fingers crossed)…
