Palmer, close to the confluence of the Matanuska and Knik rivers is a farming town with a nice airport.

Nice locale and a favorite plane. Was lucky enough to get to Palmer a few times in real life. A very interesting airport. Saw a DC-6 take off there (in the mid-90s).

Other than the tremendous outflow winds from that glacier which occur a few times each year, Palmer and the rest of the 'Mat' Valley is a very attractive place to live.
