FS2Crew weekend update for 19 Feb 2022!

Are you ready for the brief 😉

1. We're going full speed on the Aerosoft MSFS CRJ!  That's our primary focus right now.  Goal is to have something out by the end of the month.  Please don't hold us to that!  But we'll try our best!

2. PMDG 737 for MSFS: Yes, we'll be supporting it!  The wildcard is the SDK.

In the past PMDG only allowed 3rd party developers like FS2Crew to interface with their plane provided we used their dedicated SDK.

So, long story short, of course we will support the 737 in MSFS.  But we're probably going to need an SDK from PMDG first to do it legally without PMDG's legal team getting on our case.

ETA on SDK:  You know as much as I do!  Really!

3. We had some reports of MSFS crashing on startup from some users.  After some investigation, it turned out another MSFS addon appears to have corrupted the EXE.xml.  (The EXE.xml controls which programs autostart when MSFS loads)  Remember, any invalid character on an XML and the whole thing goes to pot.

Why Asobo chose to use XML files to make 3rd party apps autostart, I don't know, but they did.

If that happens to you, please do this:

1. Make a backup of your EXE.xml.

2. Delete your EXE.xml

3. Re-install FS2Crew.

4. FS2Crew will create a fresh new EXE.xml that we know will be pristine (no invalid characters).

If you want to know more about the EXE xml files, such as where they are located, please this:

The CRJ - Coming very soon!
