Anyone getting 2 control towers at YMML (Melbourne)?

Recommended Posts

Hello Gang!

Today I decided to check out YMML after the Australia update and noticed that there are 2 control towers right next to each other.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sincerely,

There are two. The one closest t the entrance is the old tower which has been there since the airport was built and the larger one is the latest addition.

I spent quite a few hours working in the old one.

Yep, 2 actual towers as in Google Earth. We must be showing our age because I spent some time there as well in the 1970s, but not as ATC. I was a young DCA engineer managing some upgrading projects to the control consoles in the Tower. We may have crossed paths without even knowing!  Cheers.
