Please, can someone help me out?

Hello everyone. I posted yesterday about to get FSX with SP1 fresh install, brand new sata HD, fully defragged after install and patch, to run smooth with my specs. After over 40 views, my post is now burried without any replies. Please, can anyone advise me on what tweaks I need and what are the best settings. I still can't seem to get things very smooth at all. I am using KSEA as my test bed. Your help would be most gratefully, appreciated. If this was FS9, no problem, but here I am lost...for now:) I feel like I'm just running around in circles spinning my wheels until I get the basics down from a few tips. Thanks again in advance for any input that will get me on my way.

Try setting the frame rate slider to "unlimited" that helped me and a lot of other people. The best thing to do is keep messing with your settings, like turn ground scenery shadows and small things like that.Jeff

First off, see if all your system drivers are up to date (most importantly, your video card). Other than that, all I can suggest is tweak, tweak, tweak. I experimented with various display settings (both FSX and Video Card settings), and I seem to have found a happy medium. AI aircraft, cars and boats still seem to drag my system down, so I have them set fairly low. I also have autogen set to sparse, but most of the other settings are medium high, to high. Don't expect to run all sliders at max settings - your system is marginally better than mine, and I still run some things at very low settings (like AI and autogen). One last tip, if you check our Phil Taylor's blog on FSINSIDER.COM, he provides a few performance tips that may help you out - specifically, look at the tip for optimizing dual core performance....I hope this helps..cheers

Thanks guys for the replies. I plan on tweaking like crazy, that's for sure. I notice in sopt view stutters are alot more than from in the VC. After taking a couple of years tweaking FS9, I am not looking forward to doing this again with FSX, but in all reality, I hope the rewards are worth it, which in time they most likely will be. I still think at this point, the complex add ons are going to struggle, but time will tell. I did see the dual core tweak, but that didn't seem to help that much. I have alot of work in front of me as I'm sure many folks have. I will post any positive results if it helps anyone out.

I found that setting the framrate lock to unlimited, really made a significant change on my system. Try that before anything else, and see what happens.cheers
