May 17, 200719 yr Hi,Does anyone know if the Ground Texture Updates by Adam Mills will screw up SP1?Gary
May 18, 200719 yr I was just about to make the same post.I would like to know exactly which files sp1 changed and should not be altered.Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
May 18, 200719 yr You can see if any ground texture files were changed from FSX RTM to FSX SP1 by looking at the datestamps. I don't think Ground Texture Updates would have any negative impact on a post-SP1 FSX installation whatsoever. After all, they replace the stock FSX textures. To my knowledge, SP1 did not change textures, but just how they are loaded. It could be tomato sauce label texture for all the sim cares, it will still load it in with the gusto that SP1 brings!Back up your textures to be safe, but I don't imagine there to be any problems with texture replacements after installing SP1. -Greg
May 18, 200719 yr Thanks for the reply.I installed SP1 over my existing FSX not a clean install so all my textures would still be the same as pre sp1.Right?Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.

May 18, 200719 yr Is there a quick way to do that or do I have to go thru each one? Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
May 18, 200719 yr Follow the instructions in his readme with the textures.(1) Make a backup copy of your complete SceneryWorldTexture folder.(2) Copy his files into that folder.Looking at a FSX with SP1 installed - I see no files in that folder which dates outside the range of 5/12/2006 and 8/24/2006 - all before the original release of FSX.You can check your own folder for file dates - Adam's files are mostly dated from 11/10/2006 through 02/07/2007 - there are a few 051 hard winter textures dated 05/12/2006.To sort your files by date - ensure you have "Details" selected in the Windows Explorer and click on the Date Modified column to sort the files by date/ time.Be sure to click on Name after you finish checking - otherwise folder many remember to sort on date in the future.
