May 18, 200719 yr Hey everyone, as I have been attempting to get FSX to run more smoothly, I noticed that there is no pushback tug present. I have tried it at KSEA with the 737-800 and CRJ-700. What is the graphicssetting that controls this feature, and what level does it need to be? I know this sounds like a stupid question, but the few experiments I have been trying are not working so far, and if I can get this working I need this feature for any videos I create hopefully sooner than later:) Thanks for your input.
May 18, 200719 yr Hi Jeff,It's located in the Traffic settings. The slider is marked Airport vehicle density, though I'm not sure what the minimal setting is.Regards,Jim KarnNOTHING is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
May 18, 200719 yr You need to be sure that "airport traffic" (under the traffic tab in the display settings), is set to at least "minimum". Also, you need to be sure that you're parked at a gate where a pushback tug is present - just switch to the outside view, and see if a tug is there. If it is, then simply enter shift-p, and the tug will move into position, then push you back....cheers
May 18, 200719 yr Both Scenery Density and airport vehicle traffic have an impact.Scenery Density controls the number of GATE and CARGO parking spots which generate pushback tugs. RAMP spots do not.Airport Vehicle traffic can eliminate some of those if the gate should have them. Also - 9 meters of clear space is needed in front of the parking spot for the push back tug. That puts a lot of them in the terminal and other buildings at some airports.
May 18, 200719 yr Author "you need to be sure that you're parked at a gate where a pushback tug is present" You just cleared up my question. I thought it was available at any gate. I will try some others, and I'm sure it will be there, as my settings are at mid point as well. Thanks guys.
