Issues with mouse bindings...

Featured Replies

Hi all, today I wanted to adjust my view command controls in MSFS to avoid this annoying accidential zooming in and out when operating a switch or knob with the mousewheel. Easiest approach: re-map the zooming in and out instead of the mousewheel alone to a combination of button and mousewheel, e.g. "mouse 4" + "mousewheel up" for zooming in. I KNOW that this worked in an earlier version of MSFS, but now, for whatever reason, I can bind it without issue but clicking on "mouse 4" instantly fully zooms out and the mousewheel has no effect at all. Furthermore, I MUST select in the controls option whether I want the action to take place upon pressing the button or releasing it, although it is not a pure button assigned to.

Did anyone manage to re-assign this zooming in the VC properly with mousewheel plus a button on the mouse? Glad for any hint...

Greetings, Chris

Not sure what to suggest. Their is a video by "clumsy" on zooming error, might be worth a try. It is 2020 mind.

Try this settings

That is exactly what I NOT want: mouse wheel alone for zooming. In earlier builds, I could map a mouse button PLUS mousewheel for zooming, avoiding the zooming in and out if accidentially not having the cursor precisely on a button. Will try the video then...

Ok, checked the video from "Clumsy" and this was exactly what I had prior one of those SU. But now, the option "zoom cockpit view" and "unzoom cockpit view" has this annoying additon "on press" or "on release", which I do not get because it makes absolutely no sense for a mousewheel action. I have no idea how to get rid of  this...

I saw somewhere (i think i did) that SU4 was mentioned on an 'official' msfs forum thread that may have broken something (at least for a few) in the mouse button/zoom settings.

Dont know iff that timeline means much to your issue or not, worth a mention though.

Just to add i looked and seems a few have tried locking togglolock to the right mouse button (from the middle). Just took a look and a few seem to mention SU7 as a prob update re zoom lock and mousewheel
