Real Newbie Question...

Featured Replies

Sorry, if there's a really obvious answer to this, but I've just installed the demo version of AAO with the intention of using it with the FBW A320 to integrate with an MCP that I built several years ago that uses a matrix of volt-free switches to control a number of inputs to the sim.

The MCP is correctly identified by AAO and successfully controls a number of the MCP functions using the standard controls that come with installation.

I decided to take this further as the standard controls don't give access to the more specific MCP functions. So I downloaded these  FBW specific scripts designed for Behringer X-Touch Mini with the hope that I could utilise them with my MCP to gain access to the specific controls. However, although I've successfully imported the scripts and made some key assignments such as HDG Pull & Push, HDG Inc & Dec, none of these function inside the sim. AAO is successfully registering the key presses as the adjacent green LEDs flash.

Note, that although I imported the scripts, I did not import the template.

Am I missing something really obvious here ?

Please check in your Community folder if the "lorbysi-content-hooks" package is there.

They weren't, but they are now. Unfortunately, still no go. Btw, did I miss something regarding the fact that they weren't originally in there ?

I guess that just leaves FBW script obsolescence - these were from January this year, so probably no longer valid.

Thanks anyway.

The installer adds this package, unless something is "weird" about your simulator paths/locations

Did you restart the simulator after adding the package?

Good question ! No, for some reason I didn't.

Restarted the sim and had a modicum of success, I can now get the three digital encoders to successfully inc/dec spd, hdg and alt on the MCP, together assigning a button to toggle the FD. However, there are a number of other functions like push/pull operations of the spd, hdg and alt knobs that just don't want to work in the sim - perhaps as you say, this is a result of out-of-date scripts ?

Next time in, I'll attempt to assign more buttons and consolidate what does and what doesn't work within the sim.

Thanks for your help so far.

Regards
