black scenery texture loading P3Dv5.3

Featured Replies

Hi,

I remember in the past if we had VRAM to spare we could change a value in the p3d.cfg (MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=320000.00000 , i suspect)

I tested this with the old EGLL by Simwings but to no success. Maybe the scenery itself is to old.

Is there an other option ?

Thanks

That setting affects how long the textures remain in VRAM before being swapped out, so you don't get black buildings that then fill the textures in after a few seconds when panning the view.  If the buildings are black and remain that way, the textures are probably missing.  I remember there were a few sceneries I ported over that put some textures in the main P3D or FSX textures folder rather than in the scenery folder--those needed to be copied over to make the scenery work, like Taxi2Gate's old OTHH.

Thanks  for clarification. The textures at EGLL is intact but doesnt stay that long. Looking around 360 and its reloading the airport textures.

Thanks Michael Moe
