May 7, 20224 yr I like to keep things simple, and follow the techie KISS principle (keep it simple stupid), and use backups and anti-virus only when absolutely necessary. For fool proof ways against bugs, huge updates, or new programs; I try them out by installing them first without making immediate permanent changes to my system. For that, I use a highly recommended program called Shadow Defender (http://www.shadowdefender.com/) For when I feel the need to do backups, I use Macrium Reflect (because you can virtualize and boot Windows from the backup image). For anti-virus and protection, again I also keep it simple. I simply use the built-in Windows Security/Firewall and Window's Restore, and a VPN service. Win 11 Pro, MSFS Deluxe, Quest 2.
