May 29, 200719 yr Simmers, I have a simple question I am hoping someone can answer. If I adjust the values in my FSX CFG, do I have to restart the sim to see the results or are they instantaneous. Thanks for your answers. Mike Keigley
May 30, 200719 yr Rubbish! OF COURSE you can change the cfg on the fly, while the sim is still running - that's what the `load` and `save` options are there for!.:) But you do need to change the cfg to see the changes in the one you use - so create a not-for-actually-simming cfg, call it `swap.cfg` or something, set absolute minimum settings for speed of loading. Then save the cfg changes in the FSX.cfg you actually do want to use, save it as a named.cfg so you recognise the change made - SWAPWAIT.cfg or something, then you can switch at will, all without exiting the sim. You acn have as many cfg files as you want, and switch between them as you like. Finally, it's a good idea to save the default cfg file before you start - one that has all default settings, but does have your personal preferences on button assignments, view and resolution settings, tha kind of thing. Then you always have a baseline for comparison purposes with your cfg tweaks.Allcott
