VNAV activate

Recommended Posts

I just got the 737-700.

When I have reached cruise altitude and prepare for descend, do I have to do anything for VNAV to start descending at TOD ?

I set my Alt to where I need to be for the GS, so should not VNAV be triggered by the TOD or do I need to do ALT INTV for him to start to descend ?

unsure of the right procedure …

if setup correctly in the FMC and the altitude is preset on the MCP, yes the plane will initiate descent at TOD.  You should not have to do anything else.  BTW, great guide.  This should help.   https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-fsx-pmdg-737-ng/

Make sure you reset the MCP to the lower altitude, or you won't descend.
