What did I do to create a telescope view in VR?

Featured Replies

Reverb G2 experimenting with OpenXR toolkit.   While changing things in the toolkit menu I did something to cause the VR image to appear as if looking thru a telescope or created a big black border with only a oval image in the middle half.

Maybe the FOV (field of view) setting, but doesn't look like it? Possibly the foveated rendering mask?

I think you can reset the toolkit by running the companion app to set safe mode, then running the toolkit again and pressing a combination of function keys. I haven't used it in a while so procedure might have changed in later versions.

You are correct with "Possibly the foveated rendering mask?"

If I set it to Preset or Custom I get the telescope effect. The effect varies depending on which preset or custom value I use.

I use an RTX 3060Ti graphics card and thought that was a good enough card

I think it should work regardless of the card. Is it the very latest version of the toolkit you're using? You could try an earlier release.

Just reading the discord it seems one game has one issue and another a different issue etc. It doesn't seem to be progressing at the rate it was in the early days.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I had turned OFF Post Processing in the user.cfg file (MSFS).  After turning Post Processing back to ON I have had no tunnel vision.
