Continuing Cursor problem

Featured Replies

This is a continuing problem that I have posted about before, but I have not received any help with.

When I start the sim and start flying, in DEV MODE, the cursor is shown as an arrow as it should, and when I put it on a clickable spot it changes to the hand with one finger up, as it should, and when I put it on a rotating dial, it changes to the circle arrow, as it should. This only happens when flying in DEV MODE. It does not happen when flying in normal mode.

But, if I put the cursor on any of the menu spots in the upper left of the screen like WINDOWS, OPTIONS, etc., and then put the cursor over any click spot in the panel of the plane, it somehow changes. It stays as an arrow when I put it on a clickable spot and when I put it on a rotating dial. No more changing to the hand with the finger or showing the curved arrow for rotating dials, it just remains an arrow. I can't tell if I am on the right spot to click or rotate. The only way to get it back to normal is to shut down the sim and start all over. But then it changes again if I use any of the upper menu spots. I have tried it on several aircraft, and it does the same thing with all planes. Anyone else seeing this? Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

I'm booting up MSFS to test this right now.

You are using the Legacy mode, of Cockpit interaction system, of accessibility, of the general options. I can confirm using overhead menu takes away the curved arrow hints and you can't get them back. But the dials still spin the same way with the mouse wheel or by using the right and left mouse buttons to do the same thing. I am using the default mouse profile.

"I can't tell if I'm on the right spot to click or rotate".

I can because I have tooltips on. When the tooltip pops up, I'm in the right spot.

There is a flightsim.to mod to reduce tooltip size and transparency, but it may no longer work with the latest sim updates. It might still work.

If you change from Legacy to Lock mode, then the dial or button or instrument turns blue. Reminds me of the old Tiddy Bowl TV ad: "It's Turning Blue"! spacer.png
