I have MSFS in my main rig (Premium Deluxe version, bought through Steam). However, since I'm traveling to the US (NY and Houston) for 3 weeks and I'm not bringing my laptop, I'm thinking about using my tablet (and a Xbox wireless controler I've just bought) for satisfying my FS needs these days.

Some questions:
1) I understand this MSFS version works with the XBox controller (or any controller with Bluetooth). Can I control the autopilot (for example) with the tablet's touchscreen, or am I limited with my inputs?

2) I understand all the rendering is done in server. Any other recommendations for using this?

3) Has anybody been able to make MSFS work with the Chatpad attached to the controller?

And 4) Since MSFS asks me for my Microsoft credentials (even when purchased at Steam), will my Marketplace addons be available in the cloud version (except the PMDG DC-6)?

I haven't seen much information about this over here...

 

 

Ok, looks like, since I stopped using Game Pass 2 years ago (shortly after release, and after noticing my laptop was not up to spec), I became elegible again for the $1 trial, so I paid it and now I have my own answers:

1) I'm limited to my Xbox controller. My touchscreen is useless for MSFS Cloud. Even if SU10 fixes this, it would be too late for me (just because of my RW travel plans).

2) At least with the default 172 G1000, I had no issues at SACO. I'll try some other places.

3) Yet to confirm. Now I need to find someone who lends me a chatpad...

4) Sadly not, despite having to log into Xbox in both the app and in my PC. I'm not paying twice for my Marketplace addons, forget it! Not even my Marketplace wishlist is synchronized 😪

Pity the Steam Deck is not available for you. That might have solved your portability issues. 

That would be a good option, albeit expensive ($400). However, neither FSX-SE or MSFS are verified for Steam Deck 😢
