July 14, 20223 yr Everywhere I go on the net the big story of the last 2 months is the tanking of bitcoin and other eMonies. To make a profit (run up the returns on lightening quick transactions) people bought a whole bank of vid cards and ran them datamining. Here's a popular chain store USA site selling gpu cards, notice someone posted a picture along with his review: a bank of cards set up to data mine. He's reviewing the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti . His picture clearly shows his banks of identical gpus https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-8gb-xlr8-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-gaming-graphics-card-with-dual-fan-black/6502682.p?skuId=6502682 You can find at least a hundred similar pics of people doing the same thing, and bragging about their riches Then the roof fell in the market. So, all of these are going to flood the used market soon. Thousands of them. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
July 14, 20223 yr Author I put bitcoin mining in google search (images) https://www.google.com/search?q=bitcoin+mining&newwindow=1&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiu85a9zPf4AhWdATQIHRN0CUQQ_AUoBHoECAMQBg&biw=1318&bih=626&dpr=1.46#imgrc=iYsZsik-njomPM Tons of pics like this one. There's going to be a lot of these dumped on the market: They prefer to avoid Low Hashtag Rate cards and run them constantly. When the attraction of trading currencies fades, and new series of gpus are released later in the year, tons of these worn out cards will flood the used market. Best to buy new. July 14, 20223 yr yep, miners were one of the drivers on the shortage of supply, along with Covid of course. I would be wary of buying used as they flood the market now. Semper Fi
July 14, 20223 yr I'm in the engineering dept of a large company and am currently running life tests on electronic components. Let me tell you, heat is not friendly to electronics. Don't buy a used video card that's done any mining! Besides that, the 4080 is out in a few months that will be an improvement in all areas; speed, efficiency at same wattage and priced way better than the current market.
