July 22, 20223 yr location: NYC flying between WTC and Empire State Buildings OLD: RTX 2600 Super, Ryzen 5 3600 NEW RTX 3700, Ryzen 5 5600X Monitor is 2K Beta SU 10, DX 12, DLSS: QUALITY, TERRAIN LOD 200, OBJECTS LOD 200, GLOBAL RENDERING: HIGH END OLD fps low 30s...............NEW fps low 60s OLD Dev Mode yellow CPU & GPU bars....NEW green cpu & gpu In the SU 10 beta, zero stutters anywhere regardless if DX 12 and/or DLSS is on or off. In SU9 in heavy scenery there were some stutters. I conclude performance in SU10 is much better than SU9 even if DX 12 and DLSS are both off. I conclude if using a 2K monitor, then a better cpu and gpu works wonders. The green bars in DEVMODE is very nice to finally see in heavy scenery areas at the higher graphics settings. (I wouldn't be getting those green bars in 4K. But 4K hi res images would be much nicer at all times anyway). July 22, 20223 yr Author By the way, if I turn off DLSS and set render scale to 200, and both LODs to 200, then fps drops to about 45fps. If I turn DLSS back on (Quality), then fps shoots back up to lockable at 60 fps. There is little difference if running Ultra preset or High End. The penalty for Ultra is only about 4 or 5 fps. I can still lock 60 fps with Vsync on display preset Ultra and both LODS at 200. I conclude that DLSS can help fps enormously on some systems, depending on your relative cpu vs. gpu. If I turn off DLSS and then turn FSR on (the AMD version of DLSS sort of), I see no difference with any FSR setting from 0 to 100. I conclude FSR is doing nothing at all on my system. (I wonder if Asobo has modified MSFS for FSR yet, sure doesn't seem like it's doing anything at all to me). EDIT: FSR is called FidelityFX in MSFS options.
