More Sudden Wind Changes at Cruise?

Featured Replies

Anyone else having multiple wind direction changes in cruise lately? The last week every flight I have a drastic shift back and forth between a head wind and tailwind at cruise which almost causes the Fenix and 737 to flip over. Weather seems a bit more bugged of late.

For the most part, I've noticed some odd behavior with the winds, but with one exception, not as drastic as others are reporting. Mine just results in autothrottles cycling up and down fairly rapidly to compensate for shifting head/tail winds, but they never exceed normal velocities or cause the plane to flip.

The one exception was a few days ago when flying the Hjet, I was at cruise and suddenly rolled on my back, and the plane overstressed almost immediately. At the time I thought it might be a problem with the Hjet's autopilot since I'd just downloaded the new version, but now I suspect it was whatever's going on with the winds.

Yes has happened to me during cruise, thankfully the FENIX is able to handle this and AutoPilot does not disconnect. A minor annoyance,

"Complaint: Check Engine Light is on."

"Solution: Installed electrical tape over Check Engine Light."
