I wonder how much of a hit on the marketplace they've taken. The new version is so bad it makes it hard to buy or find anything. The whole MSFS 24 UI is the worst I've experienced in gaming across every mode and tab.

I kinda lost all motivation to play after switching to 2024. Trying to figure out what planes and airports work is tedious. Performance is way worse despite me upgrading my machine.

Has this somehow broken seasons for career? No longer getting bare trees in the north which is disappointing with the snow on some places.

Does anyone else have this issue with addons in the Community folder? Add ons won't work for me unless I zoom in on the map to the airport and wait 30 seconds for the buildings to load in. If I try to spawn at a gate before that finishes it just gets stuck in the load screen. For the longest time I was just struggling to get any of my airports to work until doing this.

Any tips on getting the Community folder to work? I had contrail install 2024 KSFO into correct file path but it doesn't show up in game.

I've spent an absurd amount of money on 2020 add ons and hearing the difficulty in porting those over to 2024 makes me think it will be at least a year before I fully switch over. 2024 will be a good VFR sim while 2020 will be the one for airliners for a bit longer.

This is super minor but Washington DC has so many palm trees in the game.

They will probably need to limit the amount of people able to play at a given time for a few more days. I expect the queue to be a persistent thing we have to deal with in the all cloud environment

Been playing for a few hours. I forgot how bad the default airports look. Going to be a while until I fully move over to 2024.

I imagine the Game Pass numbers are hard to estimate. They really should have just had an early release for people buying the game to stress test stuff.

Any word on when an update for the plane is coming out?

Just upgraded to a 4080 Super and 7950x3D. Didn't think I'd see such low FPS so soon into my purchase haha. Gonna hold off on flying this for a bit after having the same issues this morning even at default airports.

So impressed with what they've done so far. I thought it would be way more incomplete than it it.

The basics are the same across the Airbus fleet so you could probably watch some A330 videos initially to get a feel for the systems logic. The CDU is the only thing drastically different.

Most 2020 add ons seemed to have some conflicts with the new terrain system. I don't think most things we bought will be quickly backwards compatible in 2024. We will be at the mercy of devs to patch these airports for us. I'm fully expecting to have to pay upgrade fees for many...hope the release version proves me wrong. I fully expect PMDG to charge some upgrade fee for example.

Only thing I dislike about the plane is the auto throttle implementation. Hard to transition from auto throttle to manual throttle on approach. Unsure how to properly do it to avoid spooling up or down the engines too much and becoming unstable.

Is there a way to auto load the plane based on Simbrief? The EFB is awful and having to manually pick where people sit and what tanks for fuel should be filled is tedious.

I feel like every game that has a alpha/beta people say is a super early build and then the actual game comes out and it's almost exactly the same as the alpha/beta. That's my one concern with 2024. I don't trust developer rhetoric on stuff like this.

Looks like they partnered with a South Korean company since all the military bases in 2024 are censored unlike 2020.

It will be annoying to deal with all the growing pains like we did with 2020. If you have the hard drive space keep both games loaded up. I plan on using 2020 for another year for airline flights while all the weirdness of a new game gets sorted out. 2024 does look and feel stunning so I can't wait for it to become a mature game.

It definitely was. The a320 calculator rejected takeoffs in the past if this was the case and definitely didn't give a flex temperature

The takeoff calculator needs a bit of work for sure on the A321. Tried to take off at Phoenix just now and ran out of room on the runway 15 knots before rotate speed. Calculator had me flex take off despite it being 43C outside.

I thought I was going crazy using the speed brakes and that happening. I remapped my honeycomb bravo like three times. So annoying.

It legit looks ready for at least beta release to the public. I'm super impressed by that video. Hopefully we get to fly it sometime this summer.
