hey guys I need some help with connecting activesky with prepar3dv5 I just bought it today and I did a fresh reinstall of both prepar3dv5 and activesky. I downloaded the connector and I have active sky enabled in add-on in prepar3dv5. but the activesky does not connect with prepar3d even when I launch can anyone help with this?

Try googling with this string:

active sky does not connect to p3d

@windshear25, this sounds like a SimConnect issue. ASP3D requires some very old software designed for FSX to make a successful handshake to P3D.

Firstly, open Control Panel and navigate to Programs and Features. You should check if you have 3 SimConnect entries. See attached image. If you haven't then ...

Navigate to your main P3Dv5 folder. Double-click the redist folder and then same for Interface.

You should see 6 sub-folders. Open each of FSX-RTM, FSX-SP1 and FSX-SP2-XPACK. Ignore the rest.

In each navigate to retail - lib and double-click SimConnect.msi.

That will install the three SimConnect entries. I'm not sure but you should also have Microsoft ESP SimConnect Client v1.0.20.0 already installed. Check Programs and Features.

Also, please confirm which version of Active Sky you have installed.

You need a hosting service like DropBox and then use the link at the bottom of your message box to link via URL.

That's only needed for early versions of P3D so don't worry about that.

Did you run those msi installers with admin provileges?

Unfortunately I dont have Dropbox, tried with google drive but it doesnt seem to work. I did run those .msi

I'm asking you questions that you're not answering. What version of Active Sky?

Just google photo hosting sites. There are plenty.

Sorry, My mind is all over the place. 

When I first ran those .msi, it prompted me to run as administrater but when I did them again just to check again, it did not prompt me to run as administrators and there is no option to. the activesky version is 8080.

Ive tried google photos, ive tried imgur but those dont work. Can I provide information instead of photos?
