Reinstall Time?

No, they're not. Think about it.

They must be a last resort, or you are just wasting time.

Andy has done all of this but unless he has wiped his config files and folders manually, the re-install will just pick up the old settings.
The reinstall is just data and unlikely to solve the technical issue.

I feel for him, but it wasted his time and solved nothing.  I see this so often, with Windows reinstalls as well.
It needs to be more targeted fault finding rather than using such a blunt instrument.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

A reinstall didn't fix anything...sigh

I'm afraid that the issues with flight log, achievements and activities are all interconnected and connected also with the cloud synchronization of the user's data. The thing that happens when you see the white circle spinning on the bottom right of the screen.

My flight log and bush trips have been wiped out 3 times already... with the installation of SU5, SU7 and SU9.

SU10 Beta 1 reset the bush trips again but some of them (only the ones I did with SU9) were restored at 100% after I restarted them.

It seems like the flight log file can get corrupted on the occasion of some sim updates or with cloud sync and in some cases it ceases to function or it's replaced with a clean one.

I believe this is by far the most neglected aspect of the sim, it's a real disaster and it's a pity because even if they fix it completely tomorrow, we will never recover what's already lost.

I make tons of flights, the program picked up one one August 3rd, and the rest date back to July 30.  When I make a flight, it appears in the logbook, but next time I launch the program, it's gone.

Yes, I have lost mine at least once before, but I wasn't too bothered and I never really looked back at my log, but it is a bad thing to happen to others when they care about it.

I might look at one of these external logs now (mentioned in this thread) as I am starting to take things more seriously in the sim lately.
I am looking at doing a round the world trip even, so I would like a log for that!

It might be Andy's only option as well as MS / Asobo don't seem to be able to control the server synchronisation issues very well.

The first time peoples logs got wiped, some people were devastated, but there was no official response; it kind of got swept under the carpet apart from a wry smile from Martial in a twitch session when he acknowledged there was no chance of getting them back.
