September 3, 20223 yr So I had in the past purchased a plane from Milviz being the Turbo Otter. Which is quite a nice plane for what it is, although it did take some effort to manage, e.g mistreating the engine would cause it to blow and it was very easy to blow the engine. Essentually flying was not without consequences and whist i was learning just what that meant, there was many a time the engine died and I had to glide into the nearest place to land. Other Milviz planes were enticing, however at the time were quite expensive purchases and due to budget limitations I never bought further. Anyway their dropping of the price by 50% and then another 30% for their trading name change sale ment an easy choice on purchasing. I ended up buying a bunch with the first implementation being the standard DHC-3 Otter. Did the thing I always do and enabled P3D logging just to see what sort of bugs the plane came with. And gauge bugs seemed to be the main ones, not a lot but enough to cause some funny ops and strange intermintant probs. Subsequent affected gauge code review showed the majority being typos like missing spaces and missing or extra brackets, there were also a few dud variables and uncommented left over code snippets, however nothing that wasn't beyond a few quick fixes. Of interest was the code structure was quite clean and easily readable, unlike Carenado's which is messy and includes comments and variables not in the English language. As this was an older plane it didn't have all the nicities of their later releases, e.g lighting is a bit on the FSX side so I added some dynamics. And replaced the default water fx with McCoy types tuning the float contact points to suit (the points were quite out of alignment). And I've been flying around the Western coast of Canada and the Pacific North West taking advantage of the amphibious version's water or runway and it's been a lot of fun. Cheers Has GTN integration and the Milviz weather radar (not compatible with P3D v5). It's a nice looking plane. The landing light illumination appled. Swimming out to the plane. It was one day only 30% off all items. Better luck next time.
