June 25, 200718 yr Hi there,I noticed with the FSX update, the propdiscs seem to have been layered below the clouds. Has anybody else noticed that?
June 25, 200718 yr Yes, and I have a couple other "FSX-ready"add-ons that have their afterburner effects layered below distant clouds as well. It's a very aggravating known FSX bug that apparently didn't make it to the priority list for the SP.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
June 25, 200718 yr perhaps it's the way the prop disc is modelled? The B17 and the ** Fighter package (my only FSX add ons) did not show this bug. But the ATR disc looks more transparent and shimmering than the other ones.I forgot what it was but there were different methods of modelling the pro disc and one had issues, if I remember correct.
June 25, 200718 yr >perhaps it's the way the prop disc is modelled? The B17 and>the ** Fighter package (my only FSX add ons) did not show>this bug.I haven't tried this with all of the ** fighters, but the Spitfire has this problem too.
June 25, 200718 yr >I haven't tried this with all of the ** fighters, but the>Spitfire has this problem too.hm, when I am back from work I will check this again. I am positive about the B17, but wouldn't hold my breath on the ** Fighters package.
June 25, 200718 yr Yes it is....the way 3rd party alpha channels work in FSX...I don't see it with any default birds...I have a bunch of planes and helos that were "updated" for FSX that have this effect, it's really annoying on helicopters....ARGH | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 25, 200718 yr David is right.I tried the ** Zero and the Thunderbolt, both have the problem, so I guess they are all in the same boat. Before SP1, I couldn't afford any weather fps wise ...The propdiscs of the B17 are different, of somewhat lesser quality, perhaps just with a transparency set in 3dsmax and not with an alpha channel. They do not visibly turn, as the ** Fighter prop disc do (with the strobe effect).
