Odd elevation issue p3dv5, need suggestions

Featured Replies

Suffering from an elevation issue at FT klas. Whenever I load the airport it suffers from the issue in the first image. The building is buried...

I thought it may be related to the additional Vegas files in orbx sca. I have the normal orbx klas files turned off of course, including world/scenery location. So I removed sca and rebuilt the scenery index on first load and the sim still has the same issue.

The weird part is that I simply need to open the scenery library and move ANY scenery up or down and reload triggering another scenery index build. Then the issue goes away like in image two. Hope that makes sense.

Suggestions are much appreciated!

The terrain looks right. Reminds me of the flying houses problem, when switching views, but this time it's a diving house. If there aren't any other KLAS sceneries around it may be a matter of your settings in relation to your hardware. I have pretty much maxed all settings but with plenty of VRAM. If your system is just slower to adjust the buildings to the height, it may just take time for the sim. So reducing the load, less autogen maybe or changing the mesh resolution or tesselation, can bring a change. KLAS is a very heavy scenery. You can also try to lower the details there. If switching views I also get sometimes unwanted to another airport because of the ai traffic observer function AIGTC has. When back at my plane I have flying houses everywhere and the sim does not recover from it with my system. Reloading sceneries or even a restart is needed then.

I your case I would search for other KLAS sceneries "*klas*.bgl" with Everything file search or windows search and disable all files not in \FlyTampa\LasVegas\scenery. I'd also try to set KLAS to the top layer with an Addon Organizer, like the one from Lorby or SimstarterNG.

Thanks for your reply Dan, and very much appreciate your logic! I did try much of what you've suggested prior to posting. My system is pretty robust, but reducing the load is always a good place to start. I'll continue to investigate. Thanks again!
