How to save a multi windows setup after SU10

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I just installed SU10, and tried the new Multi Windows "Experimental" function on my three 27" monitors, one centered and two beside at 45° each one.

The problem is, that when I find the perfect setup and applied it, if I close the simulator, at the next startup the Multi Windows setup is disappeared and I need to rebuilt my two extra windows.

Do you know if this is due to the temporary experimental  state of this feature or it's a problem of mine?

Thank you.

If you have saved the settings they should be used at every startup …

So, in this case I have some problem. I noticed that at the startup, the sim expand itself on the three monitor (also before of SU10), but if I move just a little the window, it resets on the central one only. I can mantain the expanded window, but noticed that it's only a streched wiew, in fact, once the simulation situation starts, the two lateral screens, are showing a stretched view, with deformation and in the experimental menu, no extra windows are set. Now I'm triyng to start with the single window on the center screen, than add the two lateral and exit, tosee if something changes at the restart.

I'll let you know...

Thanks

For some reason, my sim starts at 5760 x 1080, but in expanded mode, not using the new multi windows feature.
Do you have any Idea of the file where the startup settings are stored? I wanna try to check if its possible to modify that setup...
This happens in window reduced mode, if I clic on the double square at the extreme right of the stretched window, the window maximize on the center screen only and at 1920 x 1080, but at the next startup, the story is the same...

Disable NVsurround. You have to use each monitor seperately. My frontview is 2 views.

NVsurrond is not enabled, I just have the extended desktop in windows 10, don't know if this could be an issue, but I always had this configuration.

Disable extended mode. Just use it as seperate monitors.

I can't just use them as separate monitors, my setup is monitor 1 on the left, 2 in center and 3 to the right.
The desktop is extended on three monitors, but the other possibilities are only to duplicate the desktop in a couple of unuseful combinations.
Anyway, I just don't understand, why if I build my perfect setup in MSFS, setting my three views spanned on the three screens and apply it, at the next startup, all is gone and I need to recreate the two additional views. I tried starting with the main msfs menu in windowed mode or in full screen mode on the center monitor only, but nothing, always the same story.
Really don't understand.

Mauro,

When you make any change in the multimonitor window, then when you try to exit out of the multimonitor window, do you get a pop-up prompt to Save your changes, Discard, or Cancel?

Tried it and I have the same image in the 2 screens, so I don't really see the interest.

Normally, when I finish a flight, I simply exit to the main menu and then exit again to windows desktop. I always leave the three windows, but at the next startup, they are disappeared, also in the experimental menu they are no more present. I never had any save request apart from the "apply and save" when I exit from the setup of additional window 1 and window 2.

Then you have something set wrong, see above video. If you can, use 3 screens, works very well.

I seen the video and well, ok, it can extend the view but it's not what I expected when thinking multiples screens. I'd like more to see, for exemple, instruments (cokpit) in monitor 1 and external view in the monitor 2.
