September 25, 20223 yr Does anyone have a good reference on how turbo prop engines are operated? Basically what are the power and condition levers actually doing? I get the prop pitch/mixture/manifold throttle of piston engines, and I know the basic theory that turbo props use, but I'm having trouble understanding what the various levers and stuff are actually doing. If it's different for different engines, I'm looking at the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 and its varients. The BlackSquare King Air refit has gotten me curious in going to non-piston planes. Thank you, Harry Voyager
September 25, 20223 yr This might help. I actually have it opened in another tab when I came across this post… https://airplaneacademy.com/torque-itt-np-and-ng-explained-on-turboprop-engines/#TQ_-_Torque / CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB / Freight Pilot
September 25, 20223 yr The video below is a tutorial on how the PT6 reverse flow free turbine turbo props actually work, rather than how to operate one - but is well worth watching. Edited September 25, 20223 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
