Feature-Request: vertical Wind Diagram

Featured Replies

Would it maybe be possible to add a kind of vertical wind diagram for a selected Waypoint?

This means a display of how many wind and which direction the wind has in different altitudes for a selected waypoint.
OK, there is already a Windlayer option implemented, but it shows the wind only for one altitude, but for all waypoints.
I would like the opposite one.

This is useful to determine, if a change in cruising altitude would make sense to get more tailwind or less headwind.

If you are using Active Sky you can see the Winds Aloft report which will do what you want.

Don't know. This would clutter the tooltips even more up.

You can get a stack of winds for each winds aloft symbol on the map and also for flight plan waypoints (2.8.1.beta).

Alex

Maybe it doesnt need to be in the tooltip.

My idea was to place a item in the "more" context-menu:

spacer.png

with selecting this a new window is opened, which shows wind direction and speed for some altitudes on this selected location.

maybe like that:

But not that much altitudes. I would say 1000ft, 8000ft, 15000ft, 24000ft, 32000ft, 38000ft would be useful.

or whtaever data you have.
