Lorby doesn't work with USBhub

Featured Replies

I use a Honeycomb alpha and bravo in MSFS 2020. I noticed that my Lorby software wasn't working, if I had the software pulled up, it would acknowledge when I was pressing a button or turning a knob on the bravo, but it wouldn't send that information to the simulator. Finally, I discovered that it was due to my peripherals being connected to my PC via a powered USB hub (link to item below). Once plugging the peripherals directly into the PC, everything works fine. I need the peripherals connected via USB hub due to how my desk setup is. Has anyone ran into this before and are familiar with a solution or workaround? TIA!

Not really. I am using four powered USB hubs for peripherals, about 25 USB devices in total. From what you write I wouldn't expect this trouble between AAO and the sim, that doesn't really make sense. This sounds more like it is actually MSFS that is in trouble/ignoring incoming events. The interface between AAO and the sim is the SimConnect API, and that has absolutely zero bearing on USB devices.

Is it really the hub itself or something that is connected to it? Make sure that all non-controller devices are ignored by AAO, using the dialog "Hardware->Device blacklist". Open that dialog and move absolutely everything into the list on the right with the "ignore" button that isn't a game controller. That includes all keyboards and mice, and the StreamDeck if you have it - all that must be ignored - keep only your Honeycomb stuff in the list on the left.

I have a StreamDeck. We need to add it to the ignore list because AAO does not treat it as a "device" but just as a bridge to read the data and run the scripts from it to MSFS correct?

Yes, that is correct. The StreamDeck plugin is just another WebAPI client as far as AAO is concerned.
