October 20, 20223 yr I've been using little navmap for a while. Last night I briefly saw a window/menu where I could set an altitude for a waypoint. It quickly disappeared. Did I imagine this? How can I get it back? Thanks.
October 21, 20223 yr You cannot set the altitude for flight plan waypoints. You probably saw a the dialog window that pops up when adding a userpoint. This allows to set an altitude. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap

Think about the performance defining the climb and descent paths, minimum and maximum altitudes and vertical path angle restrictions from procedures now which have to be considered. Allowing a user to set arbitrary altitude for waypoints is close to impossible (error checking etc.) Here is an example for an approach procedure from the manual. Descent early (before usual TOD) using aircraft performance parameters to ARTIP which has a between speed restriction. Then ignore aircraft performance and descent more flat to SPL, etc. The only solution might be a separate VFR mode which does not allow to use procedures but lets the user set waypoint altitudes. Not sure if this is worth the effort. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
