Another insert disk problem on reinstall

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys.  Just built a new machine.  Installed MSFS again.  First load went fine.  Now I'm plagued by the "please insert disk" every time I start.  I've gone thru numerous guides trying countless things to try and remedy.  The final solution mentioned was to "Reset" msfs.  A prompt mentions I will lose all settings.  Does this mean my controller settings in the clouds will also be reset?  I do NOT want this to happen.

thanks

Think MSFS servers been acting a little sketchy this morning.  Your situation may be just connection issues.

I hear ya.  Could take off a couple weeks off the sim. And the day you come back to fiddle with the sim is that day servers or connections act up

I didn't see anything listed for MSFS on the site that reports outages.  So it's really hard to determine if the issue is on my end or theirs.

rgr that.   I live in central U.S. and was noticing around the same time you were having issues was when mine was connecting to Southeast Asia when it normally connects Eastern U.S. and it was showing very high ping numbers.

You ended up being right.  It was just a server issue.  I reinstalled the whole thing again.  But atleast it's done.

I have this problem occasionally and it seems to be after a Windows Update. I run it from the XBOX Application and it works fine. Subsequent loads from my desktop shortcut also seem fine too. I presume it's summat to do with the XBOX hub needing to synchronise with the MS servers.

Anyway just throwing this "out there" in case it helps someone.

This problem is known frequently after an update of the "game service" application in the store. To fix the problem you need to log out of the windows store, xbox app and xbox game bar.
Restart your PC, open each application one by one and connect to each application. Launch MSFS and the problem will be solved.

I read all the possible fixes.  Including what you list above.  However that solution did not work.  The only solution was time and patience
