mesh toss up, who wins?

Hi all-

Finally got FSGlobal installed, up and running. Everything went fine.

Knowing nothing about mesh, I was wondering what occurs, if anything when, two mesh files are simultaneously installed and activated.

For example, in my scenery layers for ORBXTrueEarth NorCal, the is a CVX_mesh file which I assume to be custom work for that package.

Way farther down in the scenery library resides FSGlobal mesh, activated as well.

Does P3DV5 rely on layer order, LOD or something else for display? Which overrides which, if in fact this even happens?

My understanding is that the higher-resolution mesh will take precedence regardless of layer ordering.

Thanks. I’m wondering if there a way to determine which pick P3D makes after it makes it? 😁

If you're trying to experimentally verify the behavior, I'd think that you could put the plane in front of some prominent terrain feature.  Enable each of the meshes one at a time, take a screenie of each, and then load it with both active and compare to see which one matches.
