November 2, 20223 yr Hi guys, I'm looking at a used condition Opencockpits CDU and from what I understand it is easy enough to get it configured. But my real quesiton, is there any kind of performance hit with it? Looking forward to your replies. I don't have one, but if it all is outsourced to seperate pc's then I wouldn't expect any performance hit, since there is only a very small simconnect/networking communication overhead. Thanks for the reply. Hmm, I have just done some research on the OC site and the manual says you have to drag the virtual screen across to the real CDU. When I have done this with the RealSim Gear GNS530 there is a 25-30% fps hit! If any 'in sim' window is dragged off the main monitor to another, then there is a performance hit. I posted this before I had read the manual, just trying to get real world feedback from another user. Exactly, and that is what you have to do with the Opencockpits CDU, move the virtual CDU screen across. Looks like I won't be buying the item after all.
