November 4, 20223 yr Hi, I came across this on the .TO site and what really caught my eye was the quality of the textures and the details. Looked like a photo at first and I was quite surprised at the low cost. I don't know anything about this airport and would not really expect to fly into it, but I have to admit I am tempted. Do any of you have any of you have this or their other products? Just trying to figure out what the 'catch' is. Visually it is very nice looking. https://www.fly2high.org/ CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
November 4, 20223 yr I got this a little while ago. Meanwhile it had an update that I haven't installed yet, so can't comment on its current status. That said, I don't think it's all that good. I got it with a discount at ~6.80$ and thought that price was fine for what it is. My feeling is that it really only captures the pax area of KVPS, leaving the entirety of Eglin AFB, which is attached, in a somewhat unsatisfying state There were also double jetways and some other anomalies that should have been fixed. I honestly can't really recommend it to anybody. I would say F2H in general is not a top-tier developer by any means. There's a general lifelessness to their airports I feel. I was excited to see that did KPVD and I bought it on sale, but have similar feelings about it, Benjamin van Soldt Windows 10 64bit - i5-8600k @ 4.7GHz - ASRock Fatality K6 Z370 - EVGA GTX1070 SC 8GB VRAM - 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX @ 3200MHz - Samsung 960 Evo SSD M.2 NVMe 500GB - 2x Samsung 860 Evo SSD 1TB (P3Dv4/5 drive) - Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM - Seasonic FocusPlus Gold 750W - Noctua DH-15S - Fractal Design Focus G (White) Case
November 4, 20223 yr I bought their KRSW and it is not that good. It's better than the default of course but this seemed very rushed and low quality. So many things were wrong and messed up upon release so I emailed them with many issues that needed to be fixed. I never got a response back but there was an update that corrected a few of the issues but it was still not worth the $18+. A lot of poor quality textures are used and some are not scaled correctly. A lot of texture flickering as well. Taxi lights were all over the place (although this was partially fixed) which is a sign of laziness. I just did a full rebuild of an airport for the first time with the MSFS SDK so I got familiar with how all of this stuff works so it makes it even more disappointing to see a payware developer being very sloppy with stuff and charging a very high price. If you cannot even hand place your taxiway lights than stick with releasing freeware airports. I hand placed every taxiway and runway light on my freeware airport to avoid the issue of seeing them all over the place. I also saw their response to a review of one of their airports (cannot recall where I saw it) and they were very condescending to the reviewer and getting very defensive accusing him of 'attacking their work'. The reviewer had pointed out many legitimate issues and problems with the airport. Stuff like that does not sit well with me. Learn from your mistakes and get better.... All that being said, I do not have KVPS and I will not be buying any more of their airports after my experience with the first unless I see they have significantly improved on their work and lowered their prices.
