glider : setting manual weather

Featured Replies

I'm trying to manually set weather to get good/easy gliding conditions with updrafts.

1) I see in the forum real word glider pilots. What settings do you use in MSFS ? temperature, winds, time, clouds, ....

2) how to you spot the updrafts ? I did the tutorial and I activate the visibility of thermals. I see lots of blue lines... but unable to spot where the updrafts areย ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for your help.

Hi @gcharrie,

at flightsimulator.to their are a couple gliders that come with soaring weather presets, you could try those.

Meanwhile try to set the season to Spring or Summer, T around 25ยบC will do, few Cu or scatered, getting their bases starting at around 5000' AGL ( good soaring day ๐Ÿ™‚ย ) and pushing the tops to 6000+' ... Low wind...ย

I havent yet figured if MFS models some sort of mountain effect on the cloud base height.
