Can't Load Database MSFS2020: LNM 2.8 Beta

Recommended Posts

Hello Alex,

Love the product but having trouble loading the database for MSFS into the Map!  Attached below are some screenshots of what I have as install paths!  How do I attach a Log.txt file if needed?  I have tried several options to no avail!  Running Win10, XP11.5 and P3D instatlled fine into 2.8!

Thanks in advance, Roger

Looks like a strange installation spot. Try "Reset paths"  in the loading dialog.

Tried the reset paths option many times, always takes me back to this path!  Purchased thru MS Store and installed with their launcher, just used a different drive (not C:\)!  Thanks for the reply!

You are correct, it is not 2.8.3, but will be updated today!  Thanks!  Doubt that will fix my troubles though!  I may have to remove the sim and try a new install of it!  That’s tough with slow internet! 😀

Do you use the 64-bit version of LNM? You can find this in window title bar.

Maybe some paths are too long. More than 256 characters which is a limitation for some windows programs but normally LNM has no such limitation.

Where is the file "UserCfg.opt" in your simulator installation and what is the last line in this file?

I don't see a 64 bit version here, is this where you mean?  The last line of the Usercfg.opt is below!

I have since downloaded and installed the 2.8.3 64bit version from your link but still no luck on database install!  Thanks for the link!

You should really update if notified by LNM when using betas. I fixed plenty of bugs since 2.8.0.beta.

Looks ok to me.

Does "F:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3341711372-3885855260-1859407808-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages" now contain the  "Community" and "Official" folders? Might be a permission problem if yes.

Yes, both folders are conained in the Packages folder!  When you say permissions problem, I think I understand the problem but what is the solution, if you can help?  Thanks, Roger

This. I just picked a random folder as an example. You should have ownership (click "Advanced") and full access to the folders.

Thank you Alex, I will dig into this a bit more and see what kind of permissions I have in place!

Thanks for your time and knowledge and for LNM!

You're welcome. Let us know how its going.

I'd normally recommend a sim re-installation as last resort but I'm afraid this is one of these cases. But try to fix the permissions first.

Alex,
Looks like a reinstall is in my near future, i have full permissions but still can’t access the database!  I also can’t save camera views so maybe this will kill two birds with stone as they say!  Thanks for your help attempts and keep up the great work on LNM!
