Flybywire Install

Featured Replies

Trying to install A320NX.  Wanted to see about the MCDU that can be seen on tablets now by running thru a web browser

Seems everything installed.

Looking on web and some tutorials, they say to find the 'MCDU Server' folder  in the A320NEO folder under Community

That folder is not there

That is why Im trying this Flybywire

I tried Stable and development versions.

Also when I fire up the plane in MSFS202 its start in cold and dark state.  Do I need to do some setting to have it running

Assume you installed FBW through their installer?

For the external MCDU you also need to install Simbridge, can be found in the installer under FBW aircraft towards the bottom left. then take it from there. I did not install this recently since Simbridge opens an "ugly window", you may see what I mean, which is due to some technical constraints on the OS (i.e. Windows) side if I understood correctly.

As per cold and dark, you need to start the EFB in the plane and can then select aircraft states

Curious what you mean here? I have never seen any issue running SimBridge. Do you mean the DOS CMD box that runs a quick script for maybe 2 seconds while SimBridge loads? If so, that never bothered me.

As I run WIn11 22H2 there are limitations with console but I just found this --> https://docs.flybywiresim.com/simbridge/troubleshooting/#main-window and following the steps now Simbridge starts again minimized.

anyway, if you still have issues with Simbridge and MCDU connection, check their Simbridge documentation at https://docs.flybywiresim.com/simbridge/install-configure/installation/ and maybe @Watsi's recent post with the QoL feature also helps

Looking at EFB trying to find option for not a cold and dark start

Still trying to learn MSFS2020 these camera views frustrating

for the FBW you may start here https://docs.flybywiresim.com/pilots-corner/beginner-guide/overview/

starting at a gate the default aircraft state is cold&dark, starting/spawning a flight from a rwy will set the aircraft ready to go. or you use the EFB presets to load any state you wish, see https://docs.flybywiresim.com/fbw-a32nx/feature-guides/flypados3/presets/#loading-a-preset
