Nepal Trek

This tour of eastern Nepal starts from Lukla (VNLK) and finishes at Taplejung (VNTJ).  In between we will visit eight small airstrips including Tumlingtar (VNTR) where we will detour and follow the route of the cultural trek that my brother took in October of this year.

Flightplan and link to photo alblum of the cultural trek HERE

The route is 160nm long with 9 landings.  A STOL aircraft is recommended.  I plan to fly the Aerosoft Twin Otter in Tara Air livery.

Very nice.. Lukla at it's best!.

Jeff, love the photo album. That trek looks pretty impressive in the images, but it was not until flying over the terrain that one really appreciates the vast scale of the ridges and peaks. Mostly, however, our following the details of the photo narrative gives us an appreciation for the trekkers and for their Nepalese hosts. This gives a warm human face to the drama of Nepal’s mountains.

Thanks much for putting this together. And please send our appreciation along to John.
