December 16, 20223 yr Not sure if there is a graphics setting that can improve this, but does anyone else notice clouds sometimes have a sort of textured and shimmery look to them? Almost seems like it's trying to sharpen them, but they should be fluffy and soft. See here: https://postimg.cc/fJftsdKc

If you are an Nvidia user you can also use the freestyle filters use Sharpen+, leave sharpen on 0, but reduce Texture detail and it will help get rid of this.

I have been meaning to get around to trying to see if I can figure out what is causing it or why it happens but since moving to MSFS I rather like to keep the fiddling and tweaking to a minimum. There mostly doesn't seem to be a need any more. I'd be interested to see how many others see it and if someone else has figured it out. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

Is this a setting in the nvidia control panel, or within msfs itself. The only sharpening I have on, I think, is AMD fidelity sharpening, or something like that. Not really sure what the "proper" setting for that is, so I just have the slider at 100.

This would be in Nvidia Control Panel. Image Scaling should be off unless you want to add sharpening. it can be found under manage 3d settings, global settings and it is the top one Image Scaling. Of course, so much of this is monitor and personal taste dependant. I have the post processing sharpening still enabled, this is a setting in the usercfg, if you haven't changed it it should be On. Then you can use the Nvidia Freestyle filters (accessed by Alt + F3 in game) to fine tune it to your taste. Happy to provide my settings for this which I am very happy with! What is your monitor resolution? Edited December 17, 20223 yr by abennett
December 17, 20223 yr Author OK, thanks. I think it's off then since I'm not scaling. Running a 2560x1440 screen.
