Stuck at altitude during final, can't descend.

Recommended Posts

Trying to land at GJA (Guanaja) in the DHC-2 but somehow the aircraft gets stuck at 274ft. First I thought I was too fast so I did a go-around but then I couldn't climb higher too!
Autopilot is off, tried to climb with autopilot but that didn't work either.

I even cut the engine but the aircraft didn't move an inch below or above 274ft. It did stall however and started a spin, while being stuck at the same altitude. Finally I got the "overstressed" warning which ended the flight.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

(using the AAU beta)

If you are using FSLTL and the AI Flow or AI Ground programs I had the same issue until I disabled AI Flow and AI Ground from running.  It seems there is a bug somewhere which takes over control of the player aircraft as AI or something.  I'm not 100% sure what the cause is but I do know that when I disabled AI Flow and Ground it didn't happen again on a re-try of the same flight.

Thank you for your reply. I am indeed using these addons!

I already suspected that AI traffic was involved but had not considered AI Ground and Flow.

Ha!!!! I executed the perfect VOR approach in the MD80 with a course reversal and wondered how I ended up high. I then did a quick 360 with 1500 feet per minute descent and then noticed I was stuck at 2000!!! Now it all makes sense!

Yes it seems to happen when you’re on an approach to your destination airport.  I was doing an ILS at the time.  It was originally reported as an issue in the beta however they were also using AI Ground and AI Flow.  The problem is I don’t know if those 2 programs are the issue or if it’s the broken AI in MSFS that is an issue with these programs running.  They’re both related to each other but anyway if those programs are not running the problem does not occur.
