December 20, 20223 yr Well, not quite new. I've been working on it for a while. I'm spotting 40 different general aviation aircraft at the end of the runway at 40 different airports in California. I consider the wheel and float versions of an aircraft as different aircraft. And I save each one in a scenario with an icon on the desktop for each one. In addition to spotting them at different airports I also modify their panels...standardize them so to speak. For instance the 'Z' key brings up the GPS. The 'C' key brings up the radio stack. The 'V' key brings up the overhead or switch panel. The 'B' key brings up the autopilot. And so on. I've already got different 26 aircraft spotted. I just finished spotting a Beech D18S at Flabob Airport in Riverside. Since I'm essentially home-bound and hand shakes and poor eyesight keep me from former hobbies such as fly fishing and building plastic model airplanes and model railroads my flight simulator is all I have left...and a bit of reading as my eyes permit. My wife says I'm obsessed with my flightsim. Perhaps I am, but it keeps me busy and productive. I may die with the Saitek stick in one hand and the throttle in the other. What a way to go eh? Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
December 21, 20223 yr I feel for you Noel Hopefully i can start the new year, and have cataract surgery. At least you can fly. Disk 1 of XP-11 bit the dust on me and i'm having trouble getting a replacement. On final i have to zoom in to keep an eye on airspeeds messing up the visual landings. I'm not ready for XP-12 yet .
December 21, 20223 yr Author I had cataract surgery a few years ago Paul. Nothing much to it. I had one eye done one week and the other a week after. Easier than going to the dentist. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
