December 23, 20223 yr Hello all I like to hand fly all of my approaches in the Fenix A320, including manual speed. I have a question regarding the point at which the A/THR is disconnected. Given that at this point, the throttle is in the 'CL' detent, when I press the A/THR is disconnect, the engines immediately spool up to the equivalent 'CL' position. Hence, I have to rapidly move the throttles back to the point where they are holding the approach speed under my control to prevent the a/s increasing. In Boeings, the throttles are servo controlled, hence, although they don't physically move in the sim, PMDG has the option to place a small marker on the 737 N1 gauges to show where the throttles would be if servo controlled. My question is how is this transition from the CL detent to manual throttle control handled in the Airbus given that their throttles have no servo control when in manual ? Regards
December 23, 20223 yr You have to match your doughnuts... Move the thrust levers out of the CL detent and put the little doughnuts on the current N1(or EPR)... Then disconnect the ATHR. It's going to bing at you a few times but that's the way we used to do it. Didn't happen often though... HTH, Ian

HTH, Ian Ah ok, so it's actually the other way around; move the throttles then disconnect A/THR. Many thanks - will probably have to wait now until after Christmas to try it. Regards
