ATC speed reporting adjustments?

Featured Replies

I am not sure if this has been discussed before, however, there is a large number of variables that one can set on the ATC Settings tab. This includes many things but one is conspicoulsly absent - user variation limits on 'speed' control. It does get tiring a bit to hear that you are over speed like 250 knots when you are at maybe 251 knots. I come across this a lot in the PMDG and Fenix products that have this limit built in.

The program uses the SIM reported Indicated Airspeed for these warnings and gives a 10 knot buffer, so you should not get a warning if you are below 260 kts in most aircraft.

Many complex aircraft have options on what airspeed to display and if it's not Indicated Airspeed, that could cause the problem you describe.

There are 2 options on the FltPln tab of Config for "ATC Ignores Published Speed Limits" and "ATC Ignores Below 10000 ft Speed Limit" that you could check to avoid these warnings altogether.

Thanks Dave, did not know about the preset 10 knot buffer, probably something going on with Fenix.  I forgot about the options in the FltPLn tab, have not been in that menu for quite awhile.  Should have know you have this covered, thank you much for your respose.
