August 18, 200718 yr One of the best approaches to fly is the VOR 13L/R into JFK. There are 3 sets on lead in ligts that the pilots use for this approach and they are required for the approach. FS2000/2002 had them. FS9 and FSX don't. Does anyone know is any add on scenery will get these lead in lights back in FSX? Paul Gugliotta
August 18, 200718 yr You can make them with various Utilities such as GMAX.What Tom Gibson did for my Kai Tak for FS9 here on AVSIM was made a white light effect (blinking) and attached it to the top of a antenna.Because the Antenna is a Model.mdl we set the height using the AMSL instad of using the AGL altitude. This allows the lights to taper downward in the curve and toward the runway based on a varible antenna height.I have brought the same light effect into FSX and working on a compatible Kai Tak for FSX.If I ever get around to updating KJFK I was going to add the effect to those runways also.
August 19, 200718 yr Author I am not smart enough to do this. But I'll make you a deal. You do it and I'll throw you several bucks for your effort. It really would be a gerat touch to a great approach.Paul Paul Gugliotta
