Problems with MCE and XPlane12

So much for success.

MCE only worked once and since then it has reverted back to start screen on until it says it can't connect.

Some observations:

I do your procedures above each time before I start X-Plane

The Kill option in the plugin menus has no effect.

When the can't connect message comes on, it is followed by message saying since this is the first time must do wiz. even though I do it before starting up X-Plane each time.

Very frustrating. Probably for you also.

Won't spend any more time on this unless you have any other ideas.

For MCE to connect, xpInsider64.xpl plugin (normally present inside \X-Plane\Resources\Plugins\ folder must load inside the X-Plane process.

Since X-Plane users tend to have multiple X-Plane installations, ensure all of them have that file as well as <MCE dlls> folder.

I wonder whether a pecilar multi-media device is stalling MCE loading (as it did with the wizard).

Which multi-media devices are connected to your PC?

List USB headsets, Piano Keyboards, webcam or whatever else. Thanks

I only have one X-Plane installation.

As mentioned before have P3dv5 with MCE which works great.

MCE dll located here in "D:\X-Plane 12"

xpinsider64 located in "D:\X-Plane 12\Resources\plugins"

No multi-media listed above or otherwise  except USB headset.

AV turned off at all times

I watch xpmce load up in Task Manager when I "call the crew" for about 4-5 seconds then stop. Splash screen keeps churning until Error message pops up .

I suggest you un-install your MCE X-Plane package via Windows Control Panel.

Download the very latest uploaded today.

http://www.multicrewxp.com/Downloads.html

We'll then take it from there.

I suggest you load a plane that is known to be supported, Zibo o default plane.

If still failing to start, go to C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Multi Crew X-Plane\ folder and open "xpmce.ini in Notepad

Set "Debug=1", then restart MCE.

A "startup.log" file should be generated in that folder.

Send it to support, as It will tell us where it gets stuck.

Downloaded and installed 1.6.5.2

ran wiz

On startup in X-Plane it  says not registered. Get activation code pulls up all my info but does not send info to registration.txt when I hit Generate Registration File..

I can't get past this step

Un-installing doesn't remove your key file from \Multi Crew X-Plane\ folder. Nor does it remove the additional installed voice packs.

Maybe you manually deleted that folder.

Just find your key (xPlaneEdition.lic) in your mail and put it inside that folder. Or contact us via e-mail.

My registration.txt is in the Multi Crew X folder with the correct info in it,it still says when I try to start up in x-plane i am not registered, so I can't even get to the debug part

It's not "Registration.txt that activates the software.

It's the presence of a valid "XPlaneEdition.lic" file inside that folder. Sometimes people save it from e-mail as "XPlaneEdition(1).lic" or "XPlaneEdition.txt" in which case MCE cannot see it. It needs to be with the expected name and extension and obviously for the machine ID for which it was issued..

When you manually delete \Multi Crew X-Plane folder\ and you re-install, the license key is gone.

Either find it in your mails or if you lost it, contact us via e-mail (include Regisytration.txt) and we'll send it to you.

The proper update procedure...

Un-install previous version via Windows Control Panel

Do not manually delete anything. Activation file and installed additional voice packs remain in place so you won't have to keep re-downloading them.

Download and install the latest.
